Rhode Island Offshore Wind High School Innovation Day – Focus BLADES

High School Field Trip to URI Innovation Center – Library Main Campus

Wednesday, November 20, 2024

The Innovation Day is a learning experience for RI high school students interested in learning more about offshore wind (OSW) and wind turbine blades. This summer’s blade incident off Nantucket is the inspiration for this year’s focus on EVERYTHING BLADES. Come and listen to industry and academic experts talk about OSW. Understand what happens when micro-plastics enter the ocean environment. Build and test your own blades – converting kinetic wind energy into electrical energy.
